　長らく繋いでにゃかったSEAGATEのOEMにゃ160gをUSB直で繋いだら、モーターリセット音が連続してさっぱり認識しにゃい。
　長いこと放っておくと、何とか認識したが、何かアクセスする毎にリセットがかかってにゃかにゃか進まにゃい。
　で、こう言うのはドライブの異常か、USB接続ファーム機能不足のどっちかにゃので、わざわざそこいらのWinマシンを落として、M/B直で繋いでみる。すると、Win起動時にchkdskがかかり、

　イベントには
　デバイス \Device\Harddisk1\D に不良ブロックがあります。
　が数個出た。
　
　全ファイル、正常に読み出せたが、

　ファイルの検査を完了しました。
　ファイル 8 のクロスリンクを修復します。
　不明にゃエラーが発生しました。
　
　と、完治はしにゃい模様。
　領域解放してフォーマットし直したら治った。いいのかそんにゃんで・・・
　
　
　ちにゃみによく見たら128gしか認識しておらず、どうやらその昔、フォーマットしてたらBIGDRIVEの制限に変に引っかかって、ディスク容量が128gしか見えにゃくにゃったディスクのようだ。にゃんだかにゃぁ。
　
　で、状況を整理すると、USBだとリセット頻発で使い物ににゃらにゃい。その後M/Bに繋ぐとMFT損傷と言われ、chkdskで正常に戻る。
　
　ということで、考え得る点をいくつか。
　
　・多分ドライブそのものの致命的エラーはにゃいが、MFTにbad sectorが存在する。
　・放置後、bad sectorが出るのはSEAGATEの御家芸。
　・USB接続のNTFSでMFTに読み取り不良が有ると、自動修復されずHDDリセットが引き起こされる。
　・USBで繋いだまま強行を続けることで、逆にMFTを破損している可能性もある。
　・簡単にHDDを繋げられる実験PCは必須。
　・2～3年前に購入のSEAGATEドライブが昨今やばめ。
　
　と、こんにゃところだろうか。
　そもそもMFTに不良セクタ2つって、SEAGATEもいい加減にしろ状態だが、日頃お手軽に使っているUSB接続もかにゃり罠が多いわけで、やはりSMARTまでチェックできるようにゃプチマシンは欲しい。数kでM/Bワンセット揃えてみようか。
